From Kitchen Dreams to Hair Magic: An Unexpected Journey in the Hair Industry

Growing up, the scent of hairspray and the rhythmic hum of clippers weren’t just background noise — they were the soundtrack of my childhood. Surrounded by my mom and aunt, both hairstylists, I spent countless hours in the salon, mesmerized by their artistry. While I dreamt of whipping up culinary masterpieces instead of hairstyles, the hair industry unexpectedly became my path, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

It wasn’t always sunshine and smiles, though. Witnessing negativity directed towards stylists, even on bad days, left a mark. I learned the ripple effect of negativity and the importance of self-care. When faced with negativity, I take a step back, process the situation, and choose positivity. I believe in the power of gratitude and positive affirmations, and I’m grateful for the clients who bring joy and laughter to my chair.

While I still hold onto my culinary aspirations, I’ve discovered a deep passion for hairstyling. It’s more than just a job; it’s an art form. I love the creative process, the satisfaction of transforming someone’s look, and the confidence boost I witness in my clients. Being a hairstylist has also given me the freedom to experiment with my own hair, a perk I wouldn’t trade for anything!
