Ever felt trapped, like you’re just treading water financially? I’ve been there. As a single mother of two in my early twenties, I relied on government assistance to make ends meet. But I knew I had to break free. I had to build a future, not just survive.

My First Steps: Candy, Kids, and Community

With limited resources, I got creative. I used my SNAP benefits to buy candy, not for myself, but for my kids. We turned it into a neighborhood candy store, selling treats and building a small community around it. My daughter, empowered with her own business, learned valuable lessons about responsibility and earning money. Even back then, I saw the power of multiple income streams.

From eBay to Evolving: Learning and Growing

As we navigated life’s ups and downs, I never stopped exploring. We dabbled in selling on eBay, adding another income stream. Then, as our situation improved, I let go of some of these ventures. After all, I had a good job, and we were finally in a better place.

Life’s Curveball: Back to Basics

But life throws curveballs. Now, in my early 40s, I find myself facing financial challenges again. It’s a humbling experience, but instead of fear, I feel a renewed sense of determination…
